I do not set the priorities for BSDI, but I feel safe in saying this:
BSDI is unlikely to ship a system that supports multiple processors
on a Sun or a PC in the near term.  I have been interested in working
on multiprocessing for some time, but I don't see it happening any
time soon.

I have not looked into PC multiprocessors, but I have a strong suspicion
that they differ substantially from one to the next (Compaq, ALR, etc),
and that we would be well beyond the realm of commodity hardware.
Sun multiprocessors are probably more uniform than PCs.
