Novell Ships WordPerfect 6.0 For UnixWare 2 And AT&T Unix SVR4 MP-RAS

Leading Word Processor Now Available for Full Range of Intel UNIX Platforms

DALLAS, Texas -- March 14, 1995 -- Novell today announced that WordPerfect 6.0 for UNIX is now shipping for UnixWare 2 and for AT&T UNIX SVR4 MP-RAS, which runs on the AT&T GIS System 3000. WordPerfect 6.0 for UNIX is now available on seven different UNIX platforms. Already available on SCO UNIX, the release of WordPerfect for the two additional Intel UNIX platforms further extends the multiplatform support of WordPerfect, and enables users in both PC and workstation UNIX environments to take advantage of the product's advanced word processing features.

WordPerfect 6.0 for UNIX provides a number of features for enhanced ease-of-use, including a customizable interface so users can work in the manner they choose, and more than 70 ExpressDocs. ExpressDocs are automated templates that help users quickly and easily create fax forms, memos, invoices and newsletters. Version 6.0 also includes tables, drawing and charting modules; QuickFinder for text indexing and retrieval; and the Grammatik 5 grammar and style checker.

Printing features in Version 6.0 are also designed for flexibility and ease-of-use. The WPPRINT feature performs batch mode, command-line printing and merging in the UNIX environment. WordPerfect also addresses a common font matrix across different environments so users can print identical documents to more than 1,100 printers--the best printer support in the industry.

WordPerfect 6.0 for UNIX will also be released on Siemens Nixdorf and Silicon Graphics (MIPS ABI) platforms later this quarter. Character and international versions of WordPerfect for each of the supported UNIX environments are also scheduled to ship in 1995.

WordPerfect 6.0 for UNIX has a suggested retail price of $495(US). Upgrades to WordPerfect 6.0 for UNIX are $129(US) and additional license upgrades are available for $89(US). A competitive tradeup package will be available for $149(US).

WordPerfect also offers users the best cross-platform support in the industry with versions available for 16 different computing platforms and in 28 different languages. In addition to UnixWare 2 and AT&T UNIX SVR4 MP-RAS, WordPerfect 6.0 UNIX support includes SunOS, Solaris, IBM AIX, HP-UX and SCO UNIX.

Users of WordPerfect 6.0 for UNIX can access automated technical support via the Internet by choosing "Automated Support" from the help menu. Through automated support, users can request technical support documents that answer the most common questions from "support@wordperfect.com." Users can also access technical support information and download product demonstrateions of WordPerfect for the X Window system via the FTP server "FTP.novell.com."
