IBM AIX PS/2 OPERATING SYSTEM VERSION 1.1 ADDITIONAL SUPPORT

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF ANNOUNCEMENT, CHARGES, AND AVAILABILITY
       The AIX (TM) PS/2 (R) Operating System Version 1.1 supports
additional IBM personal computers, displays, printers and features.
New systems support includes the IBM PS/2 Model P70 386 and the IBM
PS/2 Industrial Computer.
       The IBM AIX PS/2 Operating System also supports selected IBM
Japan Personal System/55 models in PS/2 compatibility mode.
       Refer to Programming Announcement 289-158, dated
April 4, 1989.
       National Language Character Support remains as defined in
Programming Announcements 287-505, dated November 3, 1987, and
289-158, dated April 4, 1989.

       IBM AIX PS/2 Operating System Version 1.1 supports additional
IBM personal computer systems, displays, printers and features.  New
systems support include the following:

    -   7561-111
    -   7562-111
       The following displays (and associated adapter), printers and
adapters are supported:
o   IBM 8507 Monochrome Display (19-inch, 1024 x 768 -- 0.31 dot when
    used with the PS/2 Display Adapter 8514/A in Advanced Function
    mode; otherwise, 640 x 480 in VGA mode).
o   IBM 4207 Proprinter (TM) X24
o   IBM 4208 Proprinter XL24
o   IBM Personal System/2 300/1200/2400 Internal Modem/A (P70 only)

SPECIFIED OPERATING ENVIRONMENT
MACHINE REQUIREMENTS:  Machine requirements remain as stated in
Programming Announcement 287-505, dated November 3, 1987; 288-565,
dated October 4, 1988; and 289-158, dated April 4, 1989, with the
following additions:
       IBM AIX PS/2 Operating System Version 1.1 is designed to
execute on one of the following with a minimum of 2MB RAM and 44MB
disk storage:
o   IBM PS/2 Model P70 386
    -   8573-061
    -   8573-121
o   IBM PS/2 Industrial Computer
    -   7561-111
    -   7562-111.
       The following displays (and associated adapter), printers and
adapters are supported:
o   IBM 8507 Monochrome Display (19-inch, 1024 x 768 -- 0.31 dot when
    used with the PS/2 Display Adapter 8514/A in Advanced Function
    mode; otherwise, 640 x 480 in VGA mode)
o   IBM 4207 Proprinter X24
o   IBM 4208 Proprinter XL24.
           Printers are supported via an extended personal computer
    ASCII print data stream; pass-through mode may be used by those
    applications that require the ability to use the unique features
    of a specified printer.

PROGRAMMING REQUIREMENTS:  There are no programming prerequisites for
IBM AIX PS/2 Operating System Version 1.1.
PLANNING INFORMATION
CUSTOMER RESPONSIBILITIES:  PTF1002 is available and contains
corrective service for IBM AIX PS/2 Operating System Version 1.1, as
well as corrective action to avoid potential hard file data loss.
The PTF is included with new AIX PS/2 shipments.  Customers with AIX
PS/2 installed should obtain and install the PTF.
