New Mailing List
----------------

The folks at gsyc.escet.urjc.es who used to maintain the LiS
mailing list no longer do so. They had a hardware crash and
no backup of the list members. They did not realize that the
list was still active on their machine.

As a result, I am setting up a new list. You are receiving
this e-mail because you have posted to the LiS mailing list
sometime in the past. Please forward this e-mail on to
anyone who you think might be interested.

You are not yet on the new mailing list. If you wish to
be added to the new mailing list, send an e-mail to
[EMAIL PROTECTED] If you wish to send something to the
list, send an e-mail to [EMAIL PROTECTED]

New Release
-----------

I have put on our ftp site a new version of LiS. It is based
on LiS 2.18.0. It incorporates the changes that Paul Landay
previously posted as patches as well several other changes
required for Linux 2.6 systems. It also includes fixes for
several bugs which caused hangs or the halting of streams
processing on SMP systems.

In order to avoid confusion with the openss7.org branch, I have
moved the version number up to 2.19.0.

The file may be downloaded from ftp.wanware.com in the pub/LiS
directory.

I have tested the release on combinations of 2.4/2.6, x86/PPC,
SuSE 10/Redhat EL4 (and updates)/Fedora Core 4,5 and uP/SMP.

Please address any questions/problems to this mailing list.

Regards,
        Steve
