Whatever we decide for VRML, please let us stay away from giant
monolithic formats like Multigen FLT format. I highly recommend a
two-format approach, with one lower-level format for describing the
geometry and a higher-level format describing the scene layout. The
VR386/REND386 example formats (WLD for worlds and PLG for polygonal
objects), although crude, is a very good concept to start with.
Sense8's NFF format is a good example of what a complete lower-level
geomtry format should look like.
