Running Over a Modem

When using NCSA Mosaic over a modem via a SLIP or PPP connection, you probably should toggle off Auto-Load Images in the Options menu. Files are downloaded more quickly when the image files are not retrieved. Inline images are replaced with a generic icon:

If you want to see a specific inline image, click on the icon. The inline image is then downloaded and displayed in the document.
